What is Seedance 2.5 Video Edit?

Start with footage you already have. Seedance 2.5 Video Edit uses your instructions to change elements of an existing clip, with optional images, videos and audio to guide the edit. The first video is your editing target; additional videos serve as references.

Control the changes in your video

Describe a targeted edit

Ask to remove an object, replace a subject or restyle a scene. Specify what should stay the same as well as what should change.

Guide the edit with references

Use images for appearance, additional videos for motion or camera references, and audio to communicate a sound reference. Name each reference in your instructions.

Choose 480p or 720p

Start at the default 480p or select 720p for a higher-resolution output. Higher resolution uses more credits.

Keep the source format in mind

The output follows the main video’s aspect ratio and duration, although the result may be slightly shorter. This editor works on an existing clip rather than extending it.

Write a clearer editing prompt

  • Name the target and reference: @video1 is the main video; @video2, @image1 and @audio1 refer to additional media.
  • Describe one clear change, then state what should remain: subject, background, lighting or camera movement.
  • Use clear source footage and relevant references. Review the result and refine your request if needed.

Video editing questions

Which files can I upload?

The main video is required: MP4 or MOV, 4–30 seconds, up to 200MB per video. Optional references include up to 30 JPEG/PNG/WebP images (30MB each) and 10 WAV/MP3 audio clips (15MB each, 2–30 seconds). Audio clips must total no more than 30 seconds.

Can I add reference videos?

Yes. All videos, including the main video, must total no more than 30 seconds, with each at least 4 seconds long. This allows at most six reference videos; longer clips reduce that number.

How many credits does an edit cost?

A 4-second edit at 480p with no additional reference videos starts at 59 credits. Pricing includes all input video durations and the expected output duration. Longer clips, reference videos and 720p cost more. Review the fixed quote before generating; a slightly shorter result does not reduce it.

Can I choose a different output ratio or length?

This editor follows the main video’s ratio and duration. It does not offer independent ratio selection or video extension. Output can be slightly shorter than the input.

When are credits charged?

Credits are reserved when you submit and charged after successful delivery. Confirmed failures release the reservation. A pending or uncertain task keeps its reservation while its status is checked; use the recovery action rather than submitting it again.
